
Part of the collection is helping to children from Cheshire Home
The Leonard Cheshire Homes in Chipata has appealed to well-wishers to come on board and help the house with maize.
This came to light when Chiparamba Trust Organization donated assorted items to children who are being kept at Cheshire Home in Chipata.
Cheshire Homes Chipata head of home, Sister Petronella Chanda says the home has not had good yields this year to enable it provide food for the over 27 children that are currently staying at the facility.
Sister Petronella further expressed gratitude towards the gesture shown by the organization, adding that the donated goods will supplement efforts to provide better life for the beneficiaries at the house.
And Chiparamba Trust Organization Director, John Zimba, says the organization thought of extending help to Cheshire Homes considering the role the facility plays in uplifting the lives of marginalized children, which is also his organization’s co-mandate.
He says the organization donated wheel chairs, school bags, children’s clothes and gardening tools among others items.
